LURED INTO SIN...Saturday

"When tempted, no one should say, God is tempting me. 

 For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone; 

but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, 

he is dragged away and enticed."

James 1:13-14

     Satan is a fallen angel who is the power of the air and walks unseen about the earth to lure people away from God.  He has many ways to lure unsuspecting people into his sinful traps -- like a fish caught on a hook or a bird trapped in a net.  Satan exposes our weakness and accuses us before God.

  

   The world and our American society are straying further and further away from God's commandments.  It will never again be  "politically correct" to be a Christian.  The world is becoming "intolerant" of the Christian faith in their drive for "tolerance."  (This is a real contradiction of practice!).

     That is why it is vital to be prepared.  As Christians we must be steeped in the Word of God and strengthened by prayer and the sacraments in order to not be dragged downward with all the rest of the people.  The Christian must live by and express different standards -- those of the Bible.

Satan will have his way in this world until the Lord Jesus comes back again to rule and reign.  Meanwhile, stand firm in your faith.
