IN THE FIRE

 10/3/15

"He said, 'Look! I see four men walking around in the fire,
unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.'"
Daniel 3:25

One of my favorite Bible stories is the one where Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are thrown into the fiery furnace by king Nebuchadnezzar because they would not bow down to his image.

The king quickly realized that God had rescued them.  Then he even recognized their God throughout his kingdom.

There have been times when we have had to endure circumstances in our lives which feel equally fiery -- illnesses, job losses, family problems, addictions, loss of homes and possessions in natural disasters, and many more.  Many of us have prayed for God to rescue us and have still had to go through them.

God doesn't always promise to take us out of trials in this life.  However, like with the three men in the fiery furnace, God promised to be right there with us in the midst of the trials.  He will provide the strength to see them through to the end.

Next time you are looking for a "way out" of something, turn instead to the Word of God and to prayer. Know that He will help you "through" anything in life which you may encounter.

  1. A promise of God...
When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up—the flames will not consume you. 3 For I am the Lord your God, your Savior, the Holy One of Israel.
    Isaiah 43:2-3a

    God bless...
