Friday Devotional...1/6/12

Trust
Trust is quite a powerful word. It’s a heart word, an action word, a mind set word.

The scripture tells us to...

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.
(Proverbs 3: 5-6)

It’s common among many who are looking for love yet they’re afraid to let go and “Trust”, as the phrase goes “It’s a trust issue.” Have you ever as a kid told someone to stand with their back to you and tell them to fall backwards because you’d catch them…it’s hard to do, because it’s the trying of your faith that …that person will catch you. It’s putting your faith and trust in that person. It’s the same for Christians, to let go and “Trust” the Lord in what ever need or situation they may find themselves in. “It’s a trust issue.” However, God is not a man that he should lie and when he said to trust him with all of your heart, you can believe that it is just that! We cannot put our trust in money nor sometimes in friends or family….BUT we can put our trust in the Lord Jesus as that is a fact.

So whatever you may be going through, TRY the Lord and see that he is trust worthy. Extend your faith and believe! Trust him and lean not on your own understanding, seek him that he may be found, acknowledge him in all of your ways, and he will direct your path. For in due season you will reap if you faint not.

  1. Thank you Glenna for this post! I was looking back to see what I wrote for my Sunday devotional exactly one year ago which I sometimes do before I write, and I was surprised to see that I also wrote about TRUST! Pretty cool!
