"...the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven..." -- Colossians 1:5a
Have you ever been somewhere and been homesick? I have, even as an adult. The saying goes, "There is no place like home."
God designed us to desire Him and long for our home in heaven. Everything here is purely temporary. Life, even if lived to the age of 100, goes by quickly.
Each of us has a different path to follow in life. God has designed each of us as His children with talents and gifts to serve Him and other people. All the pathways through life, however, only lead us to one place -- we are on the way to our heavenly home.
Some days I am more homesick for heaven than on others. I am homesick for my beloved mother and so many friends and family members who are already home. When I face difficulties on earth I am homesick for a place where all will be perfect and I will live in total health and peace and love.
I've discovered it is normal to have some homesickness in life. We're not home yet.
