Now, I know it’s not Thanksgiving Day quite yet, but I sense the Holy Spirit directing me to encourage you to review some of the words
from Scripture that encourage us to give thanks to Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Here are a just a few.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
Psalm 100:4
Bless the Lord, O my soul: And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord O my soul, And forget not all His benefits;
who forgives all your iniquities who heals all your diseases.
Who redeems your life from destruction,
who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies.
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
Psalm 103:
We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks!
For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near.
Psalm 75:1 -
Oh, give thanks to the Lord,
for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Psalm 107:1
Be anxious for nothing,
but in everything by prayer and supplication,
with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
Philippians 4:6
- Continue earnestly in prayer,
being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;
Colossians 4:2
All the angels stood around the throne
and the elders and the four living creatures,
and fell on their faces before the throne
and worshiped God, saying:
“Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom,
Thanksgiving and honor and power and might,
Be to our God forever and ever. Amen.”
Revelation 7:11-12
I want to end this week’s devotional with the chorus lyrics from one of Keith Green’s popular Christian songs :
“There Is A Redeemer”
Thank you, Oh my Father
For giving us your Son
And leaving your Spirit
‘Til the work on Earth is done.
