Devotional for 4/11/15
"Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." -- Psalm 90:12
If you've ever taken the time to make a 'to do' list for your day or even week, you have learned, as I have, that we can't possibly fit everything into our busy schedules. Add to that fact that other things come up as emergencies, or something takes more time than we thought -- we just can't get everything done as planned.
The one thing we all need to learn is to put the kingdom of God and his plans first. Even daily devotions, generally if not read first thing in the morning, somehow get skipped with the distractions of the day. We need to set priorities and make sure our commitment lies with what is important.
We need wisdom from God. We aren't even guaranteed tomorrow so we need His help to focus on what needs our attention and what can be postponed or forgotten. We need to learn from God what His agenda is for each of our lives and then do our best to fulfill it. He will provide the wisdom and guidance and help for all His plans.
Are you going crazy with your own agenda or are you following God's?
