“Transforming Love”
Definition
of Transforming- Make a thorough or dramatic change in the form, appearance, or
character of
Philippians
1:9-11 NKJV
And this I pray, that your love may
abound still more and more
abound still more and more
in knowledge
and all discernment,
that you may approve the things
that you may approve the things
that are excellent, that
you may be
sincere and without offense
sincere and without offense
till the day of Christ, being filled
with the fruits of righteousness
with the fruits of righteousness
which are by Jesus Christ,
to the glory and praise of God.
to the glory and praise of God.
Our love
for God and others increases by how much we know God's love for us. Our experiences can be a part of learning His
love for us, but wrong knowledge of our God can lead to wrong understanding
of God's love for you, which will affect our love walk.
We have all
had experiences where our love for someone has grown do to sweet things they
have done for us, but we also have had times when not so sweet things have been
done and our love for them
has diminished. Our knowledge influences
our emotions. The more we know of God
and His ways, the more our love for God and others will grow, no matter what
has been done to us.
Andrew
Wommack explains that the knowledge that is being spoken of here is spiritual understanding
of God's love. Discernment is the ability
to use or apply that knowledge correctly.
Paul was saying that as we gain spiritual understanding of God's love
and learn to apply it correctly in our relationships, then the manifestation of
God's love in our lives will increase dramatically.
Philippians
1:6 NLT
Being confident of this very thing,
that He who has begun a good work
in you
will
complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
My believed
He has started a good work in you, the manifestation of God’s love in and
through your life.
Galatians 5:22
But the Holy
Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives:
love,
joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.
