At the sound of
our praise
The heavens will shake
And the earth will move.
The heavens will shake
And the earth will move.
These
words tell what effect our praises of God have in heaven and on earth. They are
able to bring the Father into our songs and words we are singing. Our praise,
whether we sing it in church, in the car along with the radio, as a lullaby, or
as we do the tasks of our lives is to a prayer done to music. God listens and
our hearts are gladdened.
The
Bible has endless verses that teach us how and why to praise. From the things
of nature to us, His highest creation, everything and every act should be a
shout of praise to Him.
Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!
Let the fields and their crops burst out with
joy!
1
Chronicles 16:32
Every
Sunday we sing praises to God at the beginning of service. It is such a special
time not only to join in with others but also to still have privilege of
singing our own private song of prayer and praise.
Then I will thank you in front of the great assembly.
I will praise you before all the people.
Psalm 35:18
Sing the praises of the Lord,
you his faithful people; praise his holy name.
Psalm 30:4
Psalm 30:4
Whenever we sing a song
of praise whether in the assembly or even in the shower we become part of an amazing
choir whose voices are raised not only on earth but who sing in heaven as well.
When our spiritual ears are opened we can hear the multitudes that are singing
with us.
We are part of the royal
priesthood ordained by God and special to Him…chosen by the Creator of the
universe to praise Him forever…not to be in darkness but to dwell forever in
His Light. It is not easy to wrap our minds around the full implication of this
scripture. It is such an amazing privilege that we have received.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood,
a holy nation, God’s special possession,
that you may declare the praises of him
who called you out of darkness into his wonderful
light.
1 Peter 2:9
We are aware of the
words in 1 Peter 2:9 but are we able to hang onto the real meaning of those
words. They tell the whole story of who God created us to be and the story of
the salvation he planned for us. Who are we that we should receive such love
from God? This is a question that we ask a lot. It is not who we are…it is Who
he is which is the miracle. It is who we
are to Him…that is the miracle!
For this, O Lord,
I will praise you
among the nations;
I will sing praises to your name.
2 Samuel 22:50
Yes this is what we will
do for you. Praises and thanks to you forever.

Here is a song for today..."Glorious" sung by Bryan & Katie Torwalt
I am sorry that this is late. My computer has been having issues these days and I often have to figure out how to get around them. This was one of our worship songs in service yesterday. I found myself moved by the thoughts that are in the words that I put at the top...
