And as you go, preach, saying,
‘The kingdom of heaven is at
hand.’
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out
demons.
Freely you have received, freely give.
Matthew 10:7-8 (NKJV)
One of the requirements for our second year students at Charis
Bible College of San Jose is to take a missions trip to a foreign
country. This year we are headed to Nicaragua.
As Christ instructed
and prepared the Apostles, we here at Charis have been giving instruction
and preparing our students for their mission’s trip. Part of their
preparation has been to sit under the Word of God. They have had time of
worship along with prayer and fasting.
Our God commanded for us to go
into all the nations and to preach the Good News telling the people that His
kingdom is here. We were instructed to lay hands on the sick, cleanse the
lepers, raise the dead and cast out demons. He went on to say that we
have freely received what He has given to us so we are to freely give to
others.
So off we shall go declaring the love of our God by laying hands
on those that are sick and we shall see them recover. We will also speak
life into the broken hearted. And the demons shall flee. In all of
this we give glory to our awesome God.
Not only are the Apostles of Christ given this assignment, We here today have been given the same assignment, so I encourage you all to go
into your city, your stores, your streets and declare that the Kingdom of God
is here. Bring health to the sick. Raise the dead. Touch the untouchables. Kick out the demons. We have been treated oh so generously, so
live generously.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.
And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere
—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria,
and to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 1:8

You don't have to travel to the other side of the world to be a missionary. If God calls you to that then you will follow. However right in your own town there is need for mission minded people to reach the lost and hurting. You can build it into your life,
ReplyDeleteWe all need to learn from this message. Mission On... wherever we are!! There are people that need to hear. Having grown up going to Sunday School and church, it used to not make sense to me that anyone would not know about the love of Christ. I needed to be missioned in my younger days that not everyone lived the same life as me. :-) Bless you and I will mission now and be open to where the Lord leads.
